Free echo and reverb reducer

Free echo remover online: reduce echo and reverb in audio

This free echo remover works online: its AI cuts the echo that rings on after every word in a bare room, a kitchen or a hall. It takes out a lot of it. It will not make a very echoey room sound like a studio.

How to remove echo from audio online

1

Open the echoey file

Drop it above. It opens in your browser and stays on your device.

2

Pick Clean Voice or Podcast, then raise Noise Suppression

Podcast cuts the most echo. If the room still rings, push Noise Suppression strength towards 100%.

3

Export

Save an MP3 or WAV at the loudness you need.

Reduce reverb step by step

Echo reduction comes from the AI noise suppression, so most of the work is choosing how strong it should be.

  1. 1

    Open your recording

MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG, Opus, FLAC or WebM audio. Video files do not open yet, so save the sound from a video first.

  2. 2

    Listen for the tail

Play a few sentences and listen to the ring after each word. Press B at any time to switch between the original and the cleaned version.

  3. 3

    Choose a preset

Podcast removes the most echo and gives a close, broadcast sound. Clean Voice is a little gentler and more natural. Studio is light and leaves most of the room in.

  4. 4

    Raise Noise Suppression

Open the Noise Suppression stage and move Strength up, to 90–100% for a very live room. If your voice starts to sound thin or watery, back off a little.

  5. 5

    Check the quiet parts

Listen to the pauses and the ends of sentences. That is where the leftover echo shows most.

  6. 6

    Export

Pick Podcast, YouTube, Voiceover or Call, then MP3 or WAV. Your original file is not changed.

How much echo it takes out

We measured it with a synthetic voice in a room that rings for about 0.7 seconds, a typical bare room. The echo that follows each word dropped by about 25 dB with the Podcast preset and about 15 dB with Clean Voice. Studio, the lightest preset, cut only about 3 dB.

Echo that overlaps the words themselves is harder. It is reduced less, so a very echoey room can still sound a little roomy after cleaning.

We measured this with the AI model. If the studio badge shows Basic instead of AI · RNNoise, your browser is using a simpler fallback, and we have not measured that one for echo.

Less echo before you press record

Fill the room

Rugs, curtains, cushions and a full bookshelf soak up reflections. Bare walls and tiles bounce them back.

Face the soft side

Speak towards a sofa or curtains, not towards a bare wall or window.

Stay out of corners

Corners build up low, boomy echo. Move a step or two into the room.

Try the wardrobe

A wardrobe full of clothes is one of the best small vocal booths there is.

Questions

Can VoiceStudio remove echo completely?

No. It reduces echo and room reverb, often by a lot, but it does not erase it. Heavy echo that overlaps the words is only partly cleaned.

Which preset is best for echo?

Podcast cuts the most. Clean Voice sounds a bit more natural. Avoid Studio for echoey rooms, because it is deliberately light.

Is there a free echo remover online with no signup?

Yes. It runs in your browser for free, with no signup and no length limit set by us.

Can I remove echo from a video?

Not directly. VoiceStudio opens audio files only, so save the sound from your video first.

Why does my voice sound thin after reducing echo?

Noise Suppression is set too high for that recording. Lower Strength a little until your voice sounds full again.

Is my recording uploaded?

No. Everything runs on your own device.
