Auphonic alternative

A free Auphonic alternative with no monthly limit

Looking for a free Auphonic alternative? Auphonic is a great automatic sound engineer, and its free plan covers 2 hours of audio a month. If you need more than that for a solo voice recording, VoiceStudio does the core clean-up for free, on your own device.

Pick this Auphonic alternative when…

You record more than 2 hours a month

Daily voice notes, lessons or a weekly show add up fast. Here nothing counts down.

The audio is confidential

Client calls, research interviews or anything under an NDA never leave your computer.

You want to hear it before you commit

Every change plays live, so you tweak and listen instead of re-running a production.

You are offline

On a train or a plane, the installed app still cleans and exports.

Stay with Auphonic when…

There is music in the mix

Auphonic can keep or remove music while it cleans. VoiceStudio treats music as noise.

You mix several speakers

Its multitrack mode balances each mic, ducks music and removes bleed.

You want ums cut for you

It can remove filler words, coughs and long pauses automatically.

You publish automatically

Watch folders, an API and direct publishing save real time on a busy show.

Questions

Is there a free Auphonic alternative with no monthly limit?

For the basics, yes: noise removal, levelling, a limiter and loudness targets, with no monthly hour limit. It reduces room echo as well. It does not replace Auphonic’s multitrack, filler-word cutting or publishing tools.

How much does Auphonic give you for free?

When we checked in November 2026, the free plan covered 2 hours of processed audio a month, and added an Auphonic jingle. Paid plans add more hours and features.

Can VoiceStudio hit −16 LUFS for podcasts like Auphonic?

Yes. Pick the Podcast target on export and it measures your audio and sets it to −16 LUFS with peaks kept under −1 dB.

Does VoiceStudio cut silence or filler words?

Not automatically. You can select any part of the waveform and delete it, with undo, but it does not find ums or pauses for you.

Can I use both?

Sure. Some people clean and trim in VoiceStudio, then use their Auphonic hours only for the jobs that need multitrack, filler-word cutting or automatic publishing.

Is VoiceStudio connected to Auphonic?

No. It is an independent project with no link to Auphonic.
