Podcast noise and other problems it fixes

Quiet episode next to loud ads

Loudness on export puts every episode at the same level, so listeners stop reaching for the volume.

A buzzing room

Fridge hum, a laptop fan or the AC are turned down under your voice.

Breaths and room noise in pauses

The gate quiets the gaps between sentences.

Uneven delivery

The compressor lifts trailing words and tames sudden laughs.

Thin, boxy sound

The Podcast EQ adds body low down and air up top.

Clipped peaks

The limiter catches peaks before they distort.

Why −16 LUFS?

LUFS measures how loud audio sounds to people, not just how high the peaks go. Podcast apps play episodes back to back with other shows and ads, so a common target keeps everything at a similar level.

Around −16 LUFS is the level many podcast hosts and apps recommend. VoiceStudio measures your whole episode the way broadcast meters do (BS.1770), sets the gain to hit −16, and uses a limiter so peaks stay under −1 dB.

The Podcast export is mono at 44.1 kHz. A single voice does not need stereo, and mono needs half the data, so the file stays small.

What it will not do for your show

Mix several tracks

It works on one file at a time. For a remote interview, clean each person’s track, then mix them in your editor.

Make a bare room sound like a booth

It cuts room echo noticeably, but a bare, echoey room still shows. Blankets, a closet or a closer mic help more than any setting.

Write show notes

There are no transcripts, chapters or show notes.

Process a batch

Episodes are cleaned one at a time.

Questions

What is the best free podcast audio enhancer?

It depends on your recording. If noise and uneven levels are the problem, VoiceStudio fixes both for free with no limits. It also reduces room echo, and the Podcast preset cuts it most. For a very echoey room, a tool that regenerates the voice may go further.

Will the result meet Spotify and Apple Podcasts loudness?

The Podcast export targets −16 LUFS with peaks under −1 dB, a level widely recommended for podcasts. Your host may re-encode the file, which is normal.

Can I record my podcast here?

Yes, for solo shows. It records your mic losslessly and saves every few seconds. It does not record remote guests.

Should I export MP3 or WAV for my podcast host?

MP3 is what most hosts serve to listeners, and the Podcast target saves a 96 kbps mono MP3. Choose WAV if you still want to edit the file in another program.

Can it remove music under my voice?

No. Background music is treated like noise and gets damaged. Add your intro music after cleaning, in your editor.

Is there a free podcast noise remover that doesn’t upload my episode?

Yes. VoiceStudio cleans episodes in your browser with no limits, and unreleased episodes never leave your computer.
